Habemus Papam (We have a Pope!)
In 1978, the world welcomed its first Polish Pope – Karol Wojtyla – a man who would become a spiritual giant to lead the Church.
Our Lady of Victories has adopted him as one of our patrons, as he personifies our parish family. In 1973, as Cardinal Wojtyla, he stayed at Bowen Hills parish for several days, met with the people and said Mass in the church.
