Our mission continues, now more than ever – to pray and work for peace.
Join us again this year to mark Anzac Day. 101 years ago this church was built as a thanksgiving to God for peace and as a perpetual memorial for those who died. Lest we forget.
This year our Anzac Day Memorial Mass will be at 7am on Saturday 25th April (Anzac Day) and include the intentions of prayer for peace and for the repose of souls who died and suffered through war and conflict, especially those named on our honour roll. Morning tea will follow in the lower hall. You may wish to join our parish group for the official march in the city, with the descendants group towards the end of the parade. Is your family name on our honour roll?
Contact us to find out, and perhaps discover someone in your family tree for whom you can especially pray. There are 1,824 names on this unique honour roll of Catholic sailors, soldiers and two nurses who enlisted from Queensland and died in WWI. Help us to preserve the memory of their sacrifice.
